Digital twins for water utilities and infrastructure.
Many sites, a small team and information in different places. 3DplusA connects a 3D site view with documents and data so maintenance teams, operations managers and engineers can prepare work remotely.
- Who it helps
- Maintenance teams, operations managers and engineers responsible for multiple sites.
- What you get
- A shared 3D view of equipment, linked documents and SCADA data where connected.
- Example use
- Prepare a pump replacement, onboard a colleague or coordinate an upgrade.

Pump station and reservoir maintenance: review before travelling.
Before replacing a pump, open the model with a colleague, locate the equipment and review its nameplate photo and manual. Agree access, parts and the work plan. Some questions can then be resolved without a separate visit just to check.
Keep experienced colleagues’ knowledge with the team.
Review the model with an experienced colleague and record site-specific notes, instructions and photographs beside the equipment. New staff can learn the layout before their first visit. Shared documentation also supports handovers between shifts and teams.
A common reference for upgrades and site handover.
Managers, designers and maintenance teams can review the same captured conditions and identify missing information before an upgrade. After the works, a new capture and updated documentation provide a view for the operator. We agree any measurement requirements for design separately, before capture.
Give GIS, SCADA and documents their physical context.
GIS locates the site; SCADA provides readings from connected systems. 3DplusA lets teams explore rooms and equipment and link documents to the right place. By agreement, we connect SCADA or IoT readings or embed the view in an existing web portal. OPC UA, MQTT and SQL connections are available. We review interfaces, access, update frequency and integration scope with your team.
Keep the site record useful as things change.
The model shows conditions at capture. After equipment replacement or a layout change, capture the affected area and update the model, annotations and documents. We agree who handles updates and where the data stays. Run 3DplusA in the cloud or on your servers, with capture and processing by your team or ours.
How do we get started?
- Choose one site and a specific task, such as preparing a pump replacement.
- Agree capture and deployment, prepare the model and connect selected documents.
- Carry out the task with your team and assess what you could check remotely and how much time it took.
